Welcome to the Foulrice Charollais Sheep home page. In pursuit of genetic improvement within our flock and in conjunction with good breeding practice we have recorded with MLC/Signet since 1984 and backfat scanned since its inception in 1987.
Our pedigree Charollais flock having being established in 1982 has expanded from modest beginnings to its present level of some 500 ewes aiming to produce quality pedigree and commercial rams.
2007 for livestock farmers because of FMD and Blue Tongue was either a year to remember or a year to forget and move on. Worcester sale 2007 was memorable for the two ram lambs which we purchased - Edstaston Headmaster TG 7014 from Robert and Jeanette Gregory for 1900gns and Backstone Hagar YHT 7002 from John and Sue O'Reilly. Headmaster being a high indexed son of Lowerye Del Boy and both very correct well fleshed lambs.
Our one bright spot in the sale season was our own on farm ram sale which we were fortunate to hold between the two FMD outbreaks. There our auctioneer Willie McCulloch brought under the hammer 100 pedigree and commercial rams and ram lambs along with 25 select in lamb females. This sale celebrated 25 years of Charollais breeding at Foulrice and to mark the occassion we provided a complimentary lamb BBQ for all our visitors.
